Former Kosovo Liberation Army soldier Fadil Fazliu is being held in custody at Specialised Chambers in The Hague, accused of obstructing justice. For almost a year, his son Fahru claims that no contact with his father can be allowed, while his memory always keeps him close through a photograph.
Fahru says he is being violated by the tribunal's rights in The Hague.
We've been entering this month for nine months now that I can't meet my father, and I can't even see him on video connection, nor see him physically, where he's standing there unjustly. It's a lot of frustration as his son, but I think it's a major violation of human rights that I'm not allowed to meet once with my father”, said Fahri Fazliu, son of Fadil Fazliu.
Although other family members enjoy the right to meet him and communicate with him, Fahru says he does not understand why he is denied contact with his father while stressing that he has not yet received answers from the Special Chambers in The Hague.
When we asked as a family to visit with my mother, brother, and sister in December, I received email from the Special Chambers that you cannot meet, neither physically nor through video connection, and no single reasoning was why I have no right to meet my father”, Fahru stressed.
He tells of the merchandise he feels about his father and the special bond between them, stressing that his absence feels at any moment.
His memory is great, because, like any child, even I, but perhaps even though I was the oldest child, I was more attached to him, but just as they left me the name of Fadil-wit brother. It's a big shortage, it was his birthday, it felt like his absence in the society, in the family, home, in our martyrs anniversary, that it's a huge void without the family head here”, he added.
Fahru says the biggest problem is that there is no institution where to present this concern, but remains hoping that justice will prevail./Periscopi/
