Kosovo Police and Gjilan's Prosecutor yesterday have confirmed that the prime suspect in the third murder, Mefail Shkodra, is a person with a past criminal record.
According to Gnjilan Regional Police Director Agron Rukiqi's statement, Mefail Shkodra is known for justice organs, and there have been at least 5 cases of physical assault,-2 cases of corruption of order and public calm, 3 cases of impeachment, 1 case of fraud, 1 case of blackmail, 2 cases of obligation, one case for organisation of the criminal group and counter-inference in traffic.
“Around 12:34 a firearming information has been accepted on Ibrahim Rugova Street. The steward has found that one person died at the scene, two others transported to the city's emergency have failed to survive. Until the fourth person has been transported to the CKUK, in heavy condition. The fifth person is injured by other means and is being treated at Gjilan Hospital”, he said.
Police have arrested one person at the scene and have declared three others in search.
The Foundation Court in Gjilan has reacted by saying Mefail Shkodra currently does not have any active subjects in this court.
Through a media communiqué, the Court in Gjilan has said Mefail Shkodra has had three criminal cases in this court, and all three have ended up with criminal convictions.
According to the Court, in 2018 Shkodra is accused of criminal acts of possession, control or possession of weapons and has been tried, convicted and convicted.
In 2014, according to the Court, Shkodra was charged with stealing municipal services, which has also been tried and convicted.
