As the German Embassy in Kosovo reports, he sought from political actors instead of respecting and implementing the Constitutional Court's recent decision regarding the constitution.
At his meetings with Kosovo's political actors, he underlined the need to respect and fully implement the Constitutional Court's recent decision in order to end the political stalemate”, the embassy said in a news release.
He also reiterated Germany's “expectations that all parties meeting the criteria could participate in the upcoming local elections”.
Reiffenstwell reiterated Germany's full support for EU Special Representative Peter Sorensen in his efforts to advance the EU-launched Dialogue of Normalisation.
Kosovo's constructive engagement is essential for the success of Kosovo's EU integration, which Germany strongly supports”, was said in the Embassy's announcement.
The German government official met with a broad spectrum of Kosovo political leaders, particularly President Vjosa Osmani and the incumbent prime minister, whom the embassy refers to as the outgoing “Prime Minister”, Albin Kurti.
He also met with leaders of the main opposition parties, Memli Krasniqi from the PDK and Lumir Abdijxhiku of LDK.
Besides, he stayed in Mitrovica, where he had meetings with representatives of Kosovo Serb parties and civil society, as well as a meeting with KFOR Commander Enrico Bardonini.
