German Embassy: Respect Constitutional Court Decision and Act Toward Political Compromise

Germany's embassy in Pristina has welcomed the Constitutional Court's decision, which called on MPs to constitutionalise the Parliament within 30 days through open voting to elect the Speaker of the Parliament. Germany's embassy expects the constitution of the Assembly to take place within the set deadlines and called on political representatives [...]
We welcome the Constitutional Court's procedural decision. It is imperative that all political parties and interested parties respect the Constitutional Court's decision and act in accordance with the circumstances so that Kosovo citizens finally have the parliament they voted for more than half a year ago. We expect a sustainable solution within the deadline and call on all political acts to act towards a compromise”, the German Embassy said. Rtv21Perscope broadcast.
Germany's embassy has called on political representatives not to pressure the Constitutional Court and stop the attacks on its judges.
“as a key democratic institution in an independent country, it is vital that the Constitutional Court of Kosovo is able to carry out its mandate independently. Personal attacks against judges are unacceptable and undermine the tribunal's confidence and independence. The charges against democraticly appointed judges should be presented in a clear and orderly manner in accordance with appropriate legal procedures. We fully support the Constitutional Court and see with concern politically motivated accusations that undermine its effective functioning, especially at a time when parliament has not yet managed to fulfil its citizens' representation duties”, Germany's Embassy in Pristina response said.
