fascist calls to Kumanovo, DUI seeks Albanian deputy ministers' resignation

The Democratic Union for Integration (BDI) has called for the immediate resignation of Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Astrit Iseni, and Deputy Minister for Sports Sadije Sadiki Shaini, due to his failure to respond to fascist calls during the basketball match between Northern Macedonia and Romania. Last week, calls [...] have been heard during this fight in the hall.
Last week, during this match in the hall, calls like “have been heard The good Albanian is the late Albanian” and “Gas Room for Albanians”, while among those attending were the top state leaders of Northern Macedonia, including Prime Minister Hristija Mickoski and Kumanovo Chairman Maxim Dimitrievski.
DUI leader Emir Sulejmani, at a news conference Monday, called on Albanian representatives in Macedonia to publicly distance themselves from the event, seek serious sanctions and withdraw from a government that tolerates hatred.
“was not just a sports incident, but a terrible display of ethnic hatred, tolerated by the top state leaders, who were present at the hall -- Prime Minister Mickoski, Kumanovo chairman Dimitrievski, Interior Minister, Deputy Prime Minister and many other officials. Instead of listening to cheers for sport and co-existence, we heard terrible calls like the good Albanian is the dead Albanian, the gas room for Albanians, pure Macedonia. These are the slogans that remind the darkest chapters of European history, which cannot be related or justified as a matter of fans. Neither to cover themselves with hypocritical claims of unity nor to supposedly objective investigations that eventually end up with rewards. The most severe is toleration and total institutional silence. No response from the Basketball Federation, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the government, and anyone who was in that Tribe contaminated by hate”, he said.
He criticised Albanian representatives in the Macedonian government for, as he said, acting and failing to respond to a serious attack on Albanian dignity.
