The failure of the Serbian List to participate in the October local elections by the CEC has prompted numerous reactions in the country and beyond.
This move by the CEC has been condemned by Kosovo allies, saying it is an attempt to exclude communities from the October 12th elections.
While power has assessed the CEC's decision as right, opposition parties have said this is a VV political game.
Not only Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani has spoken about the matter so far.
Although it has been two days since the CEC made that decision, Osman has not said a word on the matter.
Unlike the president, the Western allies of Kosovo have not thrown.
Through a media communiqué, the states of QUINT and the European Union have expressed their concern about the decision.
The “Embassys of France, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom and the United States, together with the EU Office in Kosovo, express their concern over the efforts of political actors to limit the competition among political parties representing non-competitive communities ahead of the upcoming local elections on October 12th”, the reactions have been said.
They have estimated that any attempts to exclude communities from elections undermine democratic principles.
Any such act to exclude certain communities undermine democratic principles and erode trust in Kosovo institutions. We expect the outgoing government and all political parties to refrain from further steps that could prevent party registration. All procedures must be carried out in strict compliance with the rules and mandate of the Central Election Commission. At the same time, we encourage the affected parties to make full use of the Anques and Electoral Parasettes Panel to demand compensation”, said in response.
On Thursday, the CEC has decided not to certified the Serbian List.
With 2 votes for, 2 against and 7 abstentions, the CEC has not certified the Serbian List.
A day later, the Serbian List has announced that the CEC's decision has led to PZAP.
After such news, VV deputies have targeted PZAP judges, who will decide on the Serbian List complaint.
Some of Albin Kurti's party deputies have begun pressure on these judges, publishing their names. Although such an act is being viewed as condemned, they have not stopped.
In their social media profiles, MPs from Albin Kurti's party have asked the judges on this panel not to certified the Serbian List.
These actions of VV deputies have been condemned by Kosovo's civil society and Judiciary Council, praising that this is a tendency to influence the work of justice.
President Vjosa Osmani has not reacted even to this campaign against PZAP judges.
