Important information on businesses, especially businesses without contracts on the free energy market!
In the free electricity market, the supply is provided on the basis of purchase a (1) day before the consumer day.
After the suspension measure was cancelled by the Second Court of Commercial Court, ZRE has announced from August 16th 2025 its power supply to all businesses that do not have an active contract with a licensed provider on the free market.
Since August 16th falls Saturday, the practical break for contractless subjects could last until Tuesday's 19th 2025, as if the contract is not signed by Friday, Saturday and Sunday are vacation days, while Monday will only serve for contract binding that goes into effect from Tuesday's following day.
This information aims to avoid even greater damage to businesses through power supply cuts, despite high costs being paid on the free market.
Meanwhile, for energy consumed from 3107 to 16.08.2025, there is no official announcement from ZRE on how this period will be billed.
Current state of business:
• Businesses that have won the insurance measure during July have returned to the regulated market.
• Businesses that have filed individual indictments are still pending court decision; if the court decides in favour of business, the ZRE has the obligation to return them to the regulated market, as it has already acted in some individual cases.
According to the data, about 1,000 companies do not meet the legal criteria for market exit, but have been forced out, however. Only about 300 companies meet the two legal criteria.
The legal battle continues, and it would be in the interest of all for this issue to be resolved with court-cut rulings as soon as possible in order to minimize the potential damage that could take place after declaring final judgments.
Any financial damage caused in this process will be indirectly paid by the citizens' pocket.
