Free energy market is considered a sub-generation blow to local producers and businesses

The price of at least twice as high as electricity for local producers who pass to the free market is expected to raise product prices, becoming non-competitives to products imported to Kosovo, but not competitors to Europe as well. Meanwhile, the Regulatory Office appears to have received “heart” from the last decision of [...]
The ZRR warned commercial consumers, who have not signed commercial contracts with one of the licensed suppliers, will be cut off from the power grid from 16 August.
With the transition to the free energy market for businesses that have over 50 employees or over 10m euros in circulation, the price of energy said at least triple.
This is evidenced by recent bills received by KEK's energy supply as the last supplier.
And because the Energy Regulatory Office was without consultation with businesses and without their reconciliation, these have rejected it by sending the decision to the Commercial Court.
Lawyer Blinera Osmani, who published the Comercial Act in the case she represented, has confirmed to Kosova Prees, that this decision by the Commercial Court is not provided only for the side it represented, but for all businesses, writes KP, broadcast Periscope.
Lawyer Ardian Bajraktari has confirmed the same.
It has faced this extremely important situation for local businesses, as well as especially for the latest Comercial decision that suspends access to the free energy market, the Energy Regulatory Office has not returned answers. And the increase in energy prices as a result of the ZERE decision in the past two months has been unbearable for producers.
The representative of the production company “Pesova”, Anti-Avazi said about the “show. Pilla”, that energy bills have doubled compared to a year ago, and that has brought great uncertainty about the company's expenses.
“has certainly caused uncertainty in the share of expenditures, because planning is that the cost of electricity will rise greatly from the information we have... We have accepted the KEK bill, we see there is at least double electricity in June, compared to June of last year. While we have compared free market offers at an annual level, at least triple what we have paid so far. It's a real affordable cost for the production sector, and especially for the share of our company, it will force us to affect the prices of products, because it's an annual cost of approximately 400 thousand euros of total electricity bill growth at the company's” spending, says Ajvaz.
According to him, at these electricity prices, in different European countries there will be non-competitives.
“In export, of course we are exporting to 23 different countries, including the European Union and the countries of the region and normally making us uncompetitive. We haven't yet announced correctly to our export buyers, which will be the price of billing, because we also have the obligation that at least three months we announce earlier about price change, but certainly it won't be well received and maybe it will affect lower the amount sold in exports... The import of products in our country, yes, (will increase) is inevitable... Some will take business, some will be carried to consumers... We don't yet have the correct calculation, but maybe five percent will, at least yes (will rise)”, Aivazi points out.
Kosovo Chamber of Commerce and Industry Executive Director Kuqim Ahmeti says the ZERE decision seriously damages the country's businesses and economy.
The local business made it much more unfavourable, compared to large imports, as we know, overwhelmed our country's entire economy. It loses the possibility that the number of workers currently carrying these businesses is now at risk of remaining many workers without jobs, many families losing many investment opportunities in our country. There are many companies, which have had plans to invest, increase their capacities, whether in machinery or other centres to open various branches in Kosovo, and besides profiting in this case, the company would have benefited both the economy and the citizens, but the state, because it would have received more taxes... Another huge danger for the country is that these businesses exist a lot, at least the vast share of their capacities risk ending or sending to countries in the region that are an extraordinary disadvantage for Kosovo... If there were Kosovo's Assembly, this process would have been suspended again, because there is no preparation in this matter”, Ahmeti says.
The ZERE decision is also rejected by opposition in the country. MP from the Democratic League of Kosovo, former prime minister and former Finance Minister, Avdullah Hoti, stresses that Z's decision The RRE for open-air business energy access has created great uncertainty about energy supply for businesses.
Zx0> The RRE for open-air business energy access has created great uncertainty about energy supply for businesses. This situation is meaningless. A lot of preparation would have to be held and done. The decision would have to agree with the business community. The consequences will be great: the evacuation of existing domestic and international investors, the failure of new investors, lack of local investments, increased costs of local businesses, the loss of the competitiveness of local products in the domestic and external markets, the expensive cost of citizen living, rising unemployment. As a result, in a short time we will note the deterioration of the trade balance, as foreign products will flood our market. This arbitrary approach of the ZERE, supported by the Government of Fraud, only Kosovo businesses are not served. I don't know what agency they're in. The RRE and the Government of Fraud, but certainly not in the agenda that is in the interest of Kosovo business”, says Hoti through a response to the social Facebook network.
However, the second instance of the Commercial Court has ruled in favour of the ERE.
Business representatives have warned other complaints at the Supreme and Constitutional Court until they have asked the Energy Regulatory Office (ZRRE) not to implement this decision until judicial disputes are complete.
But the ZRR warned commercial consumers, who have not signed commercial contracts with one of the licensed suppliers, that they will be cut off from the power grid from 16 August.
And by official figures, if we compare the price of energy in Kosovo for business, compared to the countries in the region, but even wider, it is much higher.
The price for business megawatts in Kosovo is over 200 euros. While in northern Macedonia it is 110 euros, in Montenegro 110 euros and in Serbia 159. While in European states, for example in Germany, the price is 182 euros, in Switzerland 150, 170 euros, France 160 euros, while Croatia is much cheaper, 120 euros.
If we compare the price in Kosovo with that of northern Macedonia as neighbouring states, the price in Kosovo is higher by nearly 90 percent, while this percentage compared with other countries is even higher.
