A statement from his office says President “opens support for all institutions of the Republic of Croatia, mainly V SOA, which through their actions have determined the possible commission of criminal acts to harm the Republic of Croatia, and has taken appropriate measures to uncover potential authors and prevent further criminal acts”.
Milanovic, said in the statement, was informed at the right time of competent service activities and expects an efficient investigation that will determine all relevant facts.
As Index.hr reported yesterday, the military pilot, along with his partner A. M., a Serbian citizen living and working in Kosovo, is suspected to have leaked classified information for many years.
He claims he's not guilty and that someone's setting him up, and he calls his partner a victim. People who know him describe him as a professional and say they are surprised by the accusations.
The Defense Ministry confirmed that the pilot passed security control. Despite that, the prosecutor's office believes there is sufficient evidence to open an investigation.
The couple were arrested in Vis, and A. M. She first ended up at the reception centre for foreigners in Trile with an deportation order, but now she's under investigation for spying.
According to information from the investigation, from 2022 to 2025, the pilot gave his partner confidential information about the movement of Serbs in northern Kosovo, KFOR troops and the situation in Zubin Potok, where there are often tensions.
They allegedly exchanged information even about the transport of the former Kosovo police officer, Dejan Pantiq, whose arrest in December 2022 triggered protests and barricades.
His partner at the time, according to the investigation, worked in Kosovo, cooperating with journalists and a foreign government.
