The decision affects the <x0-reciproquent” of Trump, imposed on most countries in the world, as well as other tariffs applied to China, Mexico and Canada.
With a decision of 7-4, the Court of Appeals for the Federal District dismissed Trump's argument that the tariffs were allowed under a law on emergency economic powers, naming them invalid “as contrary to law”.
The decision will not go into effect until October 14th to give administration time to ask the Supreme Court to consider the matter.
Trump criticised the appeals court and its ruling on Social Truth, saying: “If allowed to stay, this decision would literally destroy the United States of America.”, reports the BBC, broadcast the signal.
“Today a multipartisan Appeal Court said incorrectly that our tariffs should be removed, but they know the United States will win at the end.”, he wrote.
If these fees ever disappeared, it would be a complete disaster for the country. It would make us financially weak, and we should be strong. ”. /Periscopi/
