Usakov said that US special envoy Steve Whitkoff had spoken about the idea of a trilateral meeting between Putin, Trump and Volody Zelensky when he held talks with Putin on Wednesday.
“With the suggestion of the American side, agreed in principle to hold a bilateral summit in the coming days -- namely, a meeting between President Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump” -- has said Usshakov.
The meeting could take place next week, as we reported, but Usakov said it is still difficult to say how long the preparations for the meeting will last.
We remember that Ukrainian President Wolfymyr Zelensky has said he made a call with US President Donald Trump.
The conversation took place after Trump's special envoy Steve Whitkoff visited Moscow.
