MP commits suicide in Finnish parliament

According to reports, it is obvious that the person has taken his life while the police do not treat death as suspicious

The building's security director, Aaro Toivonen, told the local newspaper Iltalechti that police were handling the situation.

Parliament Speaker Jussi Halla-aho did not comment on the incident, but referred to a statement issued by police on the issue.

Police are investigating the case as a cause of death. According to police, there does not appear to be any criminal involvement in the incident, reports Telegraph, report Persycope.

Police patrols and emergency services are on the scene.

Toivonne described the situation for Finnish newspaper Yle: a mission is under way, with rescue authorities, police and emergency services at the scene. I can't say more than that at this stage”.

Eyewitnesses reported listening to several ambulances leaving while their sirens were dropping. Jussi Seppäää, who worked near the Parliament building, was reportedly speaking on the phone outside his office when he woke up from the sound of emergency vehicles. /Persycope
