Kosovo's Chamber of Commerce and Industry has said their warnings of rising product prices due to increased energy for 16.1 per cent and liberalisation of the energy market, according to them, are also proven by responsible institutions.
According to the latest data presented by the Kosovo Statistics Agency, production prices have undergone an increase of 4.1 percent in the second quarter of 2025 - April, May and June.
“According to AKS, the largest upgrades under the branches of economic activities are noted in: electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (16.7%); printing and reproduction of recorded media (9.3%); clothing production (6.7%); automotive (sport), trailers and semi-remotives (4.2%); production of metal-based products, except machinery and equipment (25%)<1).

In addition, the Kosovo Chamber of Commerce and Industry said these increases make the competitiveness of local businesses even more difficult and endanger their capacity to preserve jobs.
“Therefore, Tjetik requires institutions responsible to review current energy price policies and take immediate measures to protect businesses and consumers from serious economic consequences”, it says in response.
