CEC: No application yet for certificate of political subjects

The Central Election Commission has yet to accept any application for authorisation of political subjects and the list with their candidates for the 12 October local elections. The deadline for application of political products for certificate and delivery of the candidate list has started on 26 June and will last until 13 August. Central Election Commission spokesman Valmir Elezi tells Radio Kosovo the course of this process and the number of applications submitted for the certificate of political subjects and the list with their candidates.
Until today, we have not accepted any application from any political subject, so it is complete and that the Office for Recording, Certificate and Financial Control of Political Subjects could start considering the application. Currently, we have 19 political parties; 19 civic initiatives and 16 independent candidates who have started the application. The start of the application means creating Users from the Office to access the CEC's electronic platform to submit their application”, Elez said, for Radio Kosovo, broadcast Periscope.
Currently, in the CEC, registration for the vote by mail is also under way by citizens outside Kosovo. The CEC's spokesman shows the number of those applying for the vote, for local elections, which will be held on the second Sunday of October.
By the end of August 5, 2025, through electronic platform https://diaspora.kqz-x.org have been accepted 2,334 voter registration applications, of which 1,663 have been approved, meanwhile, 671 have been refused. Currently, the period for voter registration outside Kosovo is continuing, which will end 29 August. During this time, all Kosovo citizens living abroad can apply to be registered as voters outside Kosovo”, Elez said.
In most cases rejected, applicants have not submitted one of the documents proving his address outside Kosovo, which is necessary, Elez explains.
