According to reports by Bulgarian news agency BTA, top military officials from this country attended the ceremony.
Deputy Chief of Defence Mikhail Popov told the military about the mission awaiting them, as well as the situation in Kosovo.
I know most of you have been on missions. (...) Missions are not the same. Every week and every day is different. The situation in Kosovo is currently stable, but it could change significantly within hours. Therefore, be prepared to respond favorably. Follow standard operating procedures and orders from your commanders”, Popov stressed.
I'm sure your experience and preparation will allow you to perform at a high level. Always keep an opinion on your head in Kosovo you do not represent the 29th Mechanized Battalion, you do not represent the Earth Forces. Before our allies you represent the Bulgarian Army, and before the local population and local authorities, you are representatives of NATO”, Popov stressed.
According to the latest update on NATO's official site, made in May of this year, Bulgaria has 127 soldiers in the mission of the North-Atlantic Alliance in Kosovo. /Periscope/
