The embassy has written that Kosovo's Constitutional Court has well-defined procedures for its reviews and decisions, and the court's ability to function independently is vital to Kosovo's democracy.
This should be respected and promoted by all sides, and the Court's decisions respected and implemented”, the British Embassy wrote.
On Friday, August 8th, the provisional measure imposed by the Constitutional Court ends, with which any decision or action for the constitution was banned.
On Tuesday, President Vjosa Osmani withdrew her request about the stalemate, arguing that the reporting judge for the subject was appointed Radomir Laban.
President Osmani said the reporting judge has a key role in assessing the provisional request, and that this judge has been allowed to determine Kosovo's constitutional destiny. The first of the state stressed that the appointment of Judge Laban is disturbing and dangerous, as it said “this violates the tribunal's credibility in concrete case”.
“I have withdrawn the application submitted on July 22nd to the Court. I have made it in an instant response to the confirmed information that the rapporteur has been appointed to Radomir Laban, for the dangerous activity of which in 2018, 2021 and 2024 our security institutions have delivered clear and official information. According to this information 2021, 2024 this judge poses a threat to national security for Kosovo, and is engaged in activities against the constitution”, Osmani said.
The Constitution later came in a reaction, saying it is fair to the parties before the Court to demand the withdrawal of the earlier requests. The Constitution said it addresses all requirements with impartiality, commitment and professionalism, as defined in the Constitution. /Periscopi/
