Following the report that the Special in The Hague in the trial of former KLA guides has acknowledged documents allegedly obtained from Serbia's State Security Service, Serbia's Interior Ministry and other structures of this state in Kosovo have deepened suspicions of fair process towards Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselini, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi.
Lawyer Ardian Bajraktari in an interview for Online Economy describes this process in The Hague as not a few violations.
The process in the Specialised Chambers against former Kosovo Liberation Army leaders has already entered an important phase, where the deermining role will have protective sides. The performance of the process so far has been accompanied by not a few violations, ranging from lack of transparency to a prolonged process. Then there were challenges that would not have to happen, with particular emphasis on the issue of the financial aspect, that is, the coverage of the payment of defence lawyers”, he said.
The lawyer estimated that the key point of the indictment “joint criminal enterprise” has failed to argue.
“According to what we have seen so far, in my conviction, with particular emphasis on what is known as “joint criminal enterprise”, which is the key point of the indictment, the prosecution has failed to argue that. From September onward, we await the hearing of witnesses invited by the defense side and are gradually heading towards completion of this process, which in my conviction will be completed by the end of this year, eventually the beginning of next year”, lawyer Bajraktari said./Periscopi/
