During a recent check, veterinarian inspectors have banned the sale of products such as cheese, breasts, fresh milk, and other milk by products that were being sold in poor open - air conditions and free from refrigerator storage.
These products, according to the legislation in force, must be stored in controlled temperatures of 0.06 °C and protected from pollution and contamination. Based on Law No. 08/L-20 for Food, AUV has ordered the immediate ban on selling these products under unsafe conditions and has removed any product suspected of uncertainty from the market. For vendors who do not abide by the rules, seizures, elimination of products and legal penalties” are provided, the announcement says.
The AUV appeals to citizens to be careful when buying animal products, ensuring that they are stored in adequate refrigerator conditions and have clear labels on their origin and use schedule.
During the same control, inspectors have also recorded illegal sale of birds on sidewalks, which not only prevents the free movement of pedestrians but also poses a danger to public health due to the lack of hygieno-sanitary conditions. Under food laws, consumer protection and road traffic, the sale of birds or animals in public spaces such as sidewalks is prohibited. In this case, authorities have removed the birds and warned punitive measures in case of repetition, including seizure and extermination of them”, the report said. /Periscope
