Speaking in Banja Luka following the CEC's decision to lift the mandate as president of Republika Srpska because he was sentenced to a final decision, Dodik praised that the move was unacceptable and announced that the RS National Assembly would decide to call a referendum in the coming period.
“With the question whether the RS president should accept decisions that undermine the RS constitutional order. If citizens say yes, it will sign the RS death order. If not, we are willing to continue the political struggle despite personal consequences”, Dodik said at a news conference, broadcast Periscopi.
The court of Bosnia and Herzegovina has sentenced Dodik to one year in prison and the ban on holding office for the next six years for failing to decide High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Under the Bosnian Court's ruling, Dodik will not be qualified to run for any political office until the six-year ban expires.
Dodik was found guilty of signing a decree announcing a law that High Representative in BiH Christian Schmidt had previously cancelled.
