In the letter signed by the AFA and the collaborative organisations, full support is stressed for calls for immediate implementation of mutual recognition as the only solution to long-term peace in the Western Balkans.
“Conteption is not just a diplomatic formalization, it is the most effective and pragmatic way forward. The duration of the quo status is destabilising and endangers regional security and American interests,” said on paper.
Albanian-American organisations call on President Trump to:
Publicly reaffirm US support for Kosovo's mutual recognition as the basis for lasting peace;
Encourage both countries to finalise recognition and engage in co-operation on the basis of normalisation of relations;
Supports strong mechanisms for full and temporary implementation of the agreements reached.
The letter concludes with a powerful message of support for Trump, stressing that the Albanian-American community is willing to support any effort that will ultimately bring a just and sustainable solution to the Kosovo issue.
“Thank you for your continued commitment to peace through force and for your leadership on this important issue,” closes the letter. /Periscope
