(10 months ago)It comes with intensity of fire in the Polican area, where flames have swept through the pine and bush forest and are now close to the former Gun Plant in the area B. The situation remains critical, as winds and hard terrain are making it difficult for fire forces to control the flames. The departments [...] are engaged at the scene.
Civil Protection and Fire Departments from Policani and Berat have been engaged at the scene, who are working intensively to stop the spread of the fire and avoid risk to infrastructure and residents of the area. The defence ministry suggested that 15 fire forces are currently engaged on the ground, while additional reinforcements are expected to arrive.
Authorities are carefully monitoring the situation while warning residents of surrounding areas to be vigilant and avoid circulation in the area affected by fire because of the threat of smoke and flames. The cause of the fire is still unclear and is being investigated by authorities to determine whether it is accident accidents or intentional fires.
