AGK welcomes temporary financial solution for RTK
Kosovo Journalists' Association (AGK) welcomes today's decision by the Government of Kosovo to approve a 2.5m euro loan for Kosovo Radio Television (RTK).
Through this decision, operating in the next three months for RTK is enabled, and the execution of salaries for 700 of its employees.
The AGK has been standing next to reporters and other RTK employees since the beginning and commends them for carrying out tasks despite financial pressure.
The AGK invites Kosovo's incumbent government, and the political party leading it, Vetevendosje, to stop continued political pressure on RTK, exercised in various forms.
The AGK calls for the new legislature to adopt a new Law on Public Broadcasting, which would ensure RTK's independent and unhindered functioning, including the finding of a property settlement.
