The country is facing numerous fires throughout the country. The AME in co-ordination with the Police and the Ministry of Internal Affairs is fully committed to preventing 633 fires reported in recent days. Because of their commitment, the fires have reached their location. We had KFOR intervention in Kchiq Small and Kamenica. Nine active sites we actually have. The current situation in the country is stable, but fragile because of deliberate droughts and fires. All forms of fires in open spaces are prohibited. Any neglect will be seriously handled and followed by legal penalties. We appeal to citizens to engage and take precautions. Interilateral co-operation is at the right level. The challenge is management by citizens”, Metaj said.
While the director of the road communications division in Kosovo Police, Jeton Rexhepi, announced that 23 people have been arrested and addressed 193 cases related to the fires.
He urged citizens to avoid any action that might cause fires, especially because of high temperatures.
Kosovo's “Police in co-operation with AME are working with full capacity to prevent fires and consequences, both in people and in settlements. Police within co-operation have responded to all reported cases. 23 people have been arrested and 193 cases dealing with the trigger of fires. We prefer to be careful that fire is not caused by carelessness. High temperatures are more likely to fire. I appeal to citizens to be careful to have fewer fires and to have more security for the residents of”, Rexhepi said. /Periscope
