As Bild reports, grim scenes took place on Saturday afternoon on the A1 highway in the Ruhr region: Eight people were injured in an accident involving 14 vehicles between Volmarstein and Hagen-West intersections.
According to police, all the wounded escaped with minor injuries. However, a rescue helicopter landed at the scene.
It was raining at the time of the crash. It is still not clear whether bad weather contributed to the accident. Dortmund police are investigating.
