AFAD has said the quakes have felt in majority provinces. The quake occurred around 19:53 local time in the Balicsir province, near the largest Turkish city of Istanbul.
No casualties or damage currently reported.
Turkey's Interior Minister, Ali Yerlicaya, on platform “X” has said the AFAD emergency teams have started inspections.
The earthquake has occurred at a depth of 11 miles [11 km].
The mayor of the Union region in Balixehir, Serkan Sak, has reportedly collapsed about 10 buildings, but added that no reports to die. Four people have been released alive in a collapsed building, continuing their search for two others.
