Recent communication between Zelensky and Macron came as the European Union agreed to an 18th package of sanctions against Russia due to the war in Ukraine, including measures aimed at causing further shocks in the Russian oil and energy industry.
Macron said the new package of sanctions was unprecedented.
It is necessary more than ever before to remind ourselves that Europe's security, freedom and future are closely linked to the fate of Ukraine”, Macron wrote on X.
