Zelensky promises more attacks within Russia, as death toll increases in Ukraine

Ukraine did not immediately comment on Russian Defence Ministry claims that its forces on July 26th had captured the village of Zeleny Hai in the Donjeckut region and the village of Malivka in the Dnepropetrovsk region.

Zelensky acknowledged there was fierce fighting along front lines in the eastern regions of Ukraine, but also spoke of “successful actions of our units” in the troubled Sumy region, and said his forces are Ch2> eliminated invaders in border areas”.

Reports from both sides could not be verified immediately.

Zelensky also said the main point of the Russian attacks remained near the important logistical centre of Pokrovsk, a town with a pre-war population of more than 60,000, but is now largely in ruins by Russian air strikes.

In his video night address, Zelensky said that Ukrainian military commander Oleksandr Syrskiy had identified Pokrovscu as a zone that requires a separate <x0 mind” due to ongoing Russian attacks.

Military spokesman Viktor Trehubov told Ukrainian television that Russian forces were attacking Pokrovscu with “a small stream... that simply does not stop”.

The violence comes three days after Ukrainian and Russian officials held the third direct meeting in Istanbul under efforts to end the conflict, which broke out in a full fight after the February 2022 Russian invasion.

Those talks brought progress for further exchanges of prisoners and troops of fallen soldiers, but there was no apparent progress towards a ceasefire.

US President Donald Trump, indicating his disappointment with Russian leader Vladimir Putin's refusal to agree to a ceasefire, in mid-July threatened to impose new sanctions on Moscow if an agreement with Kiev is not reached by early September.

In an interview for Fox News aired on July 26th, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Trump is becoming the most disappointed “ “which, although there have been good interactions with Putin during phone calls, “ato does not lead anywhere”.

Trump is “losing patience. He is losing willingness to continue to expect the Russian side to do something to end this” war, Ruby said, adding that “there is no way Putin would have maintained this war without Chinese support, especially through buying his own oil. ”

Zelensky has said Russia's recent attacks were a “response” to Kiev's proposal for an immediate ceasefire during peace talks.

Zelensky promised to retaliate with further attacks on military targets within Russia after the number of civilian victims increased 26 July in several Ukrainian regions hit by Russian artillery and fears.

Unfortunately, there were many Russian attacks in our cities and communities today: in Sumy Qaeda, including Ukrainian energy infrastructure, as well as in Dnjeper, Harkiv, the Harrison region and the Donjeck region”, Zelensky said in his 26 July address.

Russian military companies, Russian logistics and Russian airports must understand that Russia's own war is now striking them with real consequences”, Zelensky wrote.

He said he had instructed officials to be more active in attracting external funds for drones, REL reports, broadcasts Periscope.

Alexandr Khinstein, governor of the Russian district of Kursk, claimed on July 26th that a Ukrainian fear had killed a person in the village of Obesta, about 5km from the border.

While authorities in the Volgograd region said the remains dropped by destroyed Ukrainian drones had damaged the power supply to railways near the border area. Officials said even the traffic at the city airport was cut off. /Periscope/
