Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani has hosted separate meetings today, political party leaders Memli Krasniqi, Albin Kurti, Lumir Abdixhiku and Ramush Haradinaj, writes. Periscope.
“President Osmani has called on leaders who in the spirit of co-operation and trust, as well as in the benefit of civic and state interest, as soon as possible, but still within the 30-day deadline set by the Constitutional Court, to reach a reconciliation about the road ahead for the constitution. ” It says the President's announcement.
Leaders have presented their positions and interpretations regarding the Act of Justice and the road forward to the constitution.
The first to hold a meeting with Osman was VVC head Albin Kurti, who once got out of the meeting, said all the components were mentioned.
“We mentioned all the components, and now the president will also have meetings with representatives of other political parties, and we may eventually see whether we have made progress and just how sufficient such progress is. I believe we'll give another chance to meet and finally see what progress is that we're all interested in.”, Kurti said.
While the head of PDK)sa, Memli Krasniqi said the meeting has also been spoken of for the president to address the Constitutional for the stalemate.
I believe we had this discussion last time, but it is up to the President to make such a decision. I can't say whether he'll send it or when he'll send it. I can tell you that the PDK already has the substance ready for constitutional violations that were made deliberately and consciously in the past two hearings that could happen tomorrow if it didn't change the approach of the session chairman and VV”, Krasniqi said.
Lumir Abdixhiku from the LDK said they welcome the interpretation of the Constitutional Court and that until now practices are clear, according to him.
“We welcome the interpretation of the Constitutional Court, the practices so far are very clear -- open voting. The LDK has no name issues as far as the candidate is concerned, I will wholeheartedly vote against the VV candidates. This is constitutional violation, we invite for Concensus to unity. Let's offer elections, this needs our country to pass artificial institutional crisis”, said the LDK chairman.
The last to meet with Osman was AAKA head Ramush Haradinaj who said that despite the court's decision, the situation remains confused and that it is not known how the current blockade will be overcome.
“Theme was the blockade in the Parliament and how to come up after the court ruling. The president is concerned that the time is running fast, the deadline is 30 days old, was interested in the way Kosovo can get out of this situation. We have hoped that after the VV decision will seize the opportunity to return to the open vote, we have hoped to reach a consensus candidate, but we are stuck with this commission that is wrong. For any vote that has not passed has not been restored in the past, anything that has not been passed by the vote has not been restored. We're stuck, I don't know how we're gonna get out of this. We have told him in order to help the situation, we have sought to return the practice of open voting and voting. One topic that was discussed is what happens after 30 days, the court has greatly strengthened the decision.”, Haradinaj said.
Osmani met with leaders of parliamentary parties separately, in an effort to find the way out of the political stalemate Kosovo has entered as a result of the failure of the Parliament's constitutionalisation.
Meanwhile, Osmani is expected to continue consultations with other parties in the coming days, in its role as guarantor of constitutional functioning and representative of the unity of the people of Kosovo.
We remember that this meeting came after the Constitutional Court's act, which ordered MPs last week to present the Parliament within 30 days.
Otherwise, the working regulation imposes MPs to gather every two days for the constitutional session, which is considered closed after selecting leadership. As a result, the Assembly is holding meetings every two days now for more than 70 days./ P ERISCOPI/
