The Energy Regulatory Office has stated that liberalisation of the electricity market cannot be postponed.
Through an answer to Time, Z. The RRE has said its implementation is a legal obligation that cannot be postponed on the basis of demands of the interest parties.
“Decision of the Energy Regulatory Office (ZRRE) for free market access of consumers who fail to meet conditions for universal service is fully in line with Law No. 05L-085 for electricity as well as with regulatory framework in force. This decision is aimed at implementing legal obligations for market liberalisation and creating a competitive, transparent and non-discrimination environment. Z The RRE is carefully monitoring the implementation of this decision and developments in the market, this decision cannot be postponed, as implementation of it constitutes a legal obligation that cannot be postponed on the basis of interest parties' demands”, said in response.
The Energy Regulatory Office (ZRRE) has indicated that on July 31st, all businesses in Kosovo with over 50 workers, or annual circulation of over 10m euros, who have not contracted any licensed electricity suppliers, will remain without power.
The ZERE clarified that the 60-day temporary supply deadline will be completed on July 30th.
Meanwhile, Kosovo Chamber of Commerce and Industry member businesses have warned tough actions if Z THE RHR does not back down from the decision to liberalise the energy market.
“If Z The RRE does not make the decision today for the immediate postponement of this process, businesses will be forced to take democratic and legal measures of opposition, including widespread protests and blocking economic activities. Applications for dialogue and review have been systematically ignored by Z THREE, deepening uncertainty in the market and increasing the financial burden on the private sector, which is already facing serious challenges. We warn that full responsibility for any consequence of this crisis falls on the ZERE and institutions that allow the implementation of this unfair” decision, the announcement said. /Periscope/
