In an interview published Wednesday by Radio Gorazdevac, the British diplomat stressed the importance of the current moment and praised that the political crisis in Kosovo is deeper than just a legal or constitutional issue.
“In my opinion, we are still in a phase where the Constitutional Court's decision is expected. After all, however, it is an issue that needs to be resolved through political compromise among parties. This is basically the heart of the problem. The constitution and laws constitute the framework, but it is the party's duty to agree on the road forward,” said Hargrees.
He also spoke of the expected local elections in the autumn, stressing to the media in the Serbian language that they constitute an opportunity for all communities, especially the Serb community, to express their will. He encouraged them to participate, viewing it as a positive step towards the integration of Serbs into the country's institutional life. /Periscope/
