There's been a lot of talk about interference, pressure, procrastination, non-efficacy and selective justice. Despite all these weaknesses, however, I do not remember ever having powerful people openly opposed the justice system by publicly rejecting the implementation of judicial decisions. Exceptions have been rare and individual cases like escape or disobedience, but not by state leaders.
What is happening today is much more serious: The incumbent government, through top officials, is calling for failure to comply with Supreme Court decisions. It's no longer influence or pressure. It's anarchy drive. This is an open invitation to turn social order from the constitution and law to self-trial norms and canonical values.
In a democratic society, the court's refusal is the state's refusal. Any attempt to legitimise this refusal is an attempt to undo the foundation of the rule of law.
