It becomes known that it comes a day after President Volodymyr Zelensky proposed Shmyhal as Ukraine's new defence minister and said he relied on parliament for his government's new configuration.
He proposed Yulia Svrydenko, currently the first deputy prime minister, to lead the new government as prime minister, writes. Skynews.
Shmyhal has held this post since March 2020, making it the government leader who served longer since the country gained independence from Moscow in 1991, amid the collapse of the Soviet Union, telegraphy broadcasts.
Otherwise, if parliament supports Shmeyhal's resignation, the government also resigns, and lawmakers have 30 days to vote for the next prime minister.
Parliament's next session will begin this week.
