Turkish top diplomat waves BP countries' foreign ministers, talk of peace and projects missing Gervala

Turkey's top diplomat said he gathered representatives of Western Balkan countries for the Peace Platform.

“In order to contribute to peace and stability in the Balkans, under the instructions of our honoured President, we have today held the first meeting of the “Peace Table in the Balkans”, at the level of foreign ministers”, Fidan wrote on X.

“This platform has created a genuine and focused terrain on objectives for informal dialogue on the political level. In this way, we aim to institutionalise dialogue and co-operation on the basis of regional property and inclusion principles, to create opportunities for constructive consultations among the countries of the region, and to promote projects that essentially have the common welfare of”, he added.

Turkey's foreign minister said they agreed to exchange information on EU membership processes and that an agreement was reached on holding meetings every six months.

“in this context, at today's meeting, we agreed on the exchange of information on our EU membership processes; on the formation of thoughts on issues related to interconnection, youth, education, defence industry and regional problems; and on holding this platform at the future level of leadership. Also, agreement was reached for future meetings to be held in Istanbul and for the platform to be regularly collected every six months”, he wrote.

Fidan said that “this initiative is not an alternative to existing mechanisms, but instead would support these processes”.

“Turkey gives strategic importance to peace and stability in the Balkans and will continue to contribute constructively in this direction to various platforms”.
