Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu today holds an important meeting with American President Donald Trump in Washington.
Trump told reporters earlier that it will be the very cut “with Netanyah for the end of the conflict.
He said he thinks “we'll have a” agreement this week.
“We are working to reach the agreement that has been discussed, under agreed terms, Netanyah said on the other side.
“I believe that conversation with President Trump can help advance this result, which we all hope for”, he said before heading towards the US.
Israel and Hamas a group declared terrorist by the United States and other powers launched incorrect talks on a US proposal that envisions a 60-day ceasefire and the release of hostages Sunday in Qatar.
However, it is not yet clear whether the main differences that have consistently hampered reaching the agreement could be overcome.
Netanyah's visit to the White House is his third since Trump returned to office in January.
It comes after Trump's decision to join Israel's fight against Iran, attacking Iranian nuclear plants.
Following the mediation of a ceasefire between these two countries, Trump indicated that his focus now is on efforts to stop the war between Israel and Hamas.
It began after the latter attacked Israel on October 7, 1923, killing over 1,200 people and taking hundreds of others hostage.
Israel responded with a severe offensive of attacks on the Gaza Strip, which, according to health authorities there, has killed over 57,000 Palestinians. / REL/
