This will be the sixth phone conversation between them since Trump returned to the White House this year.
Trumpi said in a post on social networks that the conversation will take place at 10am local times in the United States. None of the leaders provided details on the subject or topics they will discuss.
The last time they discussed it was June 14th, a day after Israel attacked Iran.
The return to contacts seems to reflect the interest of both leaders to improve US-Russia relations, which have fallen to the lowest point since the Cold War due to the three-year conflict in Ukraine.
Thursday's call comes after the Pentagon confirmed the suspension of shipments of several weapons to Ukraine, while making a global review of US military reserves.
Weapons that have been suspended for Ukraine include air defence missiles, precise artillery and other equipment. /Periscope/
