Trump: I want Gaza people to be safe, they've gone through hell.

United States President Donald Trump has declared that his priority is the safety of the people in the Gaza Strip, stressing that they have experienced great suffering, the Periscope broadcasts. “
“I want the Gaza people to be safe, most importantly,” said to reporters, when asked if they still hold the position that the US must take control of Gaza. “They've gone through hell,” he added.
Trump had for the first time proposed the idea that the US would take ownership of Gaza in February a plan that was widely rejected by the international community, but that he has mentioned Sporaticly even in later months.
Meanwhile, the American president said next week he will hold a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Washington, where the situation in Gaza and the Iranian issue will be discussed.
Trump has also voiced hope that a ceasefire could be reached “diku next week”, as fierce fighting in Gaza continues, leaving behind more than 57,100 Palestinians killed since October 2023, most of them women and children, according to local authorities.
