The Syrian presidency has announced an immediate <x0 malarm” in the southern town of Suweida, trying to end a week of sectarian violence that has left hundreds dead.
There have been chaotic arms battles on the streets of the city between the Bedouine local tribes and the Druze community, both accused of atrocities, writes BBC, broadcast Periscope.
“This moment requires unity of rows and full co-operation to overcome what we are all going through,” said Syria's interim president, Ahmed al-Saharaa.
The truce came as Syrian internal security forces settled in Suweida to end the clashes a move approved by Israel as long as Druse citizens were protected.
