The Special Court has announced that the Court of Appeals panel has appointed the pronunciation of an appeal act in the Peter Shala court case for July 14th 2025, at 11:30 on Central European Time.
Initially, this session was scheduled to be held one day later. On June 4th 2025, the Court of Appeals panel had appointed the declaration of an appeal act in the case of Peter Shala on July 15, 2025, at 10:00. But, according to the Special Court's recent announcement, this date has been changed.
The session will be public and can be attended in Albanian, Serbian and English languages through live broadcasts on the DHSK website by 10 minutes late or by the public gallery at court premises.
In July last year, Kosovo's Specialised Chambers in The Hague have found Peter Shala guilty and sentenced him to 18 years in prison.
Shala was found guilty of detaining Arbytrar as a war crime against at least 18 people in the period between May 17th 1999 and June 5th of that year at the Metali Fabric in Kukes, torture as a war crime against at least 18 people and unlawful murder as a war crime against one person.
Currently Shala is in the process of Appeals regarding this case, since she has sought protection of legitimacy.
