According to the Agency, there is now only one fire in the village of Truda in the Pristina municipality.
This agency had indicated yesterday that, because of high temperatures and strong winds, fires had spread in many areas of Kosovo.
A fireman was injured in Ferizaj during the intervention of the fires.
The Agency's “Report Operational Centre shows an increase in the number of fires, with a total of 101 reported cases in only the last six hours. Of them, 48 are still active, while 53 have been located”, said in yesterday's agency announcement, reports the agency. REL, broadcast Periscope.
Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani said the situation is difficult and requires quick and co-ordinated action by all institutions.
The “Institutions of the Republic of Kosovo are mobilised to provide needed assistance. The KSF is in full readiness and ready to provide immediate support if required by municipal or central authorities for civilian emergencies”, Osmani said.
In the village of Zaselle of the Mitrovica municipality, there has been helicopter intervention by KFOR.
The agency called on citizens not to light fires in external environments and to announce fires in emergency numbers 112, 193 and 192.
Earlier, this agency had said that most mass fires in Kosovo are caused by human hands.
Not yet known how much damage has been caused, but many videos on social networks have been published earlier this month showing how grain - bearing fields were caught by fires.
According to the European Fire Information System (EFFIS), 94 fires had been registered in Kosovo during 2024, which had burned a total of 12,079 hectares of forests and bushes. /Periscope
