In these analyses, the SBASK said that “has voiced controversial criticism of the party that came first in the February elections, which, by disrespecting the citizens' will for creating functional institutions, is continuing with behaviour that sidesteps the country's real priorities and the interests of public sector and private sector workers”.
Instead of seriously addressing the demands of employed groups, including those of education workers, this party is giving more importance to appointment issues than to solving problems that directly affect the lives of citizens”.
As a result, SBASK says, an institutional vacuum has been created, where there is no address to the demands of educational workers.
Taking into account that this situation may continue in the days and weeks to come, the SBASK has intensified communication with union leaders across the country's municipalities, from nurserys, elementary and high schools, to universities, and is unanimously set to start preparations for holding an extraordinary 911 Congress.
“This Congress will have a decision-making character for further union actions. It will be examined and decided clearly whether September will mark the start of the new school year, or will be the start of union action, not excluding the general strike in the entire Kosovo educational system. The SBASK remains committed to protecting the rights and dignity of any educational worker and calls on responsible institutions to act responsibly, pave the way for dialogue and provide concrete solutions for educational workers' demands”.
