The Kremlin's top official, and at the same time the head of the Russian delegation in these talks, Vladimir Medinsky, has announced to Telegram that Russia has handed over to Ukraine the troops of over 1,000 of its fallen soldiers, while repatriating 19 troops of Russian soldiers in exchange.
Russian state news agency, RIA, quoting one source, has reported that Moscow plans to hand over the troops of 3,000 Ukrainian soldiers, stressing that the latest trade is only the beginning of this process.
Since the resumption of peace negotiations in May in Turkey, the two sides have undertaken several exchanges of prisoners of war and troops of the fallen, thus breaking the long silence that had characterised the dialogue process for more than three years. /Periscope/
