“I felt as if I came home”, the ambassador said, recalling his time in Germany's Strandmescopic campaign in the 1980s.
As reported in the German Embassy's Facebook report, the ambassador, seeing modern armoured vehicles to advanced monitoring systems, was impressed by the precision, professionalism and dedication that troops demonstrated in fulfilling KFOR's mandate.
“A special moment for him was the return to the control of a rotating Ahlmann loader already modernised but still known by the time of his service decades ago”, the report said.
Rohde had a sincere gratitude for all German soldiers serving in Kosovo.
