The United States has removed Hayat Tahir al Shamm from the list of terrorist organisations.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the decision was taken in consultation with the Prosecutor General and Secretary of State.
HTS, a grouping that once associated with al-Qaeda, brought down Bashar Al Assad's government in December last year.
The organisation, also known as Front al-Nora, was once the Al Qaeda branch in Syria, but it cut ties with the jihadist group in 2016, and tried to create another image in public.
Following the collapse of the Assad regime, the new authorities announced the dissolution of all armed factions, which were integrated into state forces.
The leader of the Ahmed al-Sahara group, the interim president, has promised to rebuild the country destroyed by civil war and restore relations with the West. After he came to power, Al Shara was removed from the US blacklist.
The latest decision comes after Donald Trump signed the removal of sanctions on Syria last week, aimed at helping the country's economic recovery./Periscopi/
