Rama: Government blockade against Pristina is political cigar

Pristina municipality Chairman Progress Rama has talked about problems in the capital, regarding the budget, infrastructure, and other issues facing Pristina residents.

Rama for the municipality's budget, for which he had been alarmed yesterday, through a Facebook post where he had criticised incumbent Finance Minister Hekuran Murati, said the budget was approved on December 9th last year by the capital assembly, which is scheduled to be worked on in 2025.

He further said that for the adoption of this LVV and PDK budget at the local level, they have attempted to block it.

Rama explained that in November 2024, the Municipal Assembly had approved the budget.

Once after the budget was approved by the Parliament, we have written to the minister to take measures to approve the budget, because it is a technical issue, which is sent to Parliament, approved and continued, and no measures were taken, either in January, February. But after the elections are now called on that there is no constitutionalisation of the Assembly and cannot be approved by the capital's 2025 budget, while telling us it should work on last year's” budget, Rama said at InfoPlus's RTK- of, broadcast Periscope.

He further said that even with last year's funding there are blockades, as he noted on which budgetary lines he has been allowed to maneuver.

Rama cited contracts signed with different operators in previous years, whose work has been conducted and payment must be made, until he noted that debts to these operators are carried out through the owners.

On the other hand, Rama clarified that each capital fund is passed through the government.

This blockade is political cigar. A minister finds useless reasons to block the entire capital, when a country, a country, has not found the possibility of unlocking the capital budget, but he finds methods from block to block and even from 2024, so who's lying here? He's a cop!

He made it known that the payments to needy families had to be executed today, but in the absence of funds from the blockade the government is making have not been realised.

Rama mentioned other projects that are being hampered by the central level, such as road infrastructure, as he mentioned road traffic rings. He added that funds are available from internationals (IBRD), where, according to him, some 206m euros have been provided, out of 82.4m euros are free.
