At a media conference at the Emergency Management Agency (AME), Hoxha was asked by reporters for these threats, where he said there is nothing more to add than incumbent Prime Minister Albin Kurti, as Serbia's political goals are known.
“We know Serbia's policy goals, it's not that they have always been or at all have been in favour of peace and security in our country. We are prepared for all the challenges that can happen in our country as well as Kosovo's security situation is calm and stable except the northern part, where it continues to be fragile because of the policy actions that often the government of Serbia, in addition to various criminal, extremist and terrorist groups, causes in the northern part of Kosovo”, Hoxha said.
These threats came after the arrest of Serbian official in Kosovo Igor Popovic, who was arrested last week for his promotional statements delivered in Hoça of Rahoveci against the Kosovo Liberation Army.
Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti said on Monday that statements by Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, are threatening, destabilising and totally unacceptable.
The arrest of the deputy director of the so-called “Office for Kosovo”, Igor Popovic, has sparked the reaction of Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq, who named this as provocation by incumbent Prime Minister Albin Kurti.
Igor Popovic's recent arrest shows that Kurti has completely lost his reason and wants to cause incidents and conflicts in the Western Balkans,” has said Vuciq on Pink television, Kosovas Press broadcasts.
Vuciq said Serbian authorities have informed international partners of the situation, while warning that the consequences may be unpredictable. / KP/
