Essex police said they were reportedly reporting a 12m-high plane that was on fire at the scene in Southeast-on-Sea, shortly before 1600 on Sunday.
East England's ambulance service said four teams were on the scene, including a rapid reaction vehicle, a reaction vehicle in dangerous areas, and a high medical assistant.
The labist MP for Southeast West and Leigh, David Burton-Samson, said at X: “My thoughts are with all of those involved”, broadcast Telegrafi.
An Essex police spokesman said: “We are working with all emergency services at the scene now and that work will continue for several hours. We would pray to the public to avoid this area whenever possible as this work continues to”.
Police said that, as a precaution, officers have evacuated the Rochford Handreed golf club and the Westcliff football club due to their proximity to the incident.
