The opening talks will be delivered by Prime Minister Hristija Mickoski and Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos.
A picture of leaders attending this meeting has also been published. Among them is incumbent Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, as well as Albania's Edi Rama. Meanwhile, Serbian president reportedly is expected to go to this summit today, follows Periscope.
Kurti, and Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, will be among the key speakers at the two-day summit in Skopje.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timco Mucunski has also published images yesterday from the ambush he made to each attendee at the meeting.
“Tonight I had the honour of hosting leaders of Western Balkan and EU countries. Skopje hosts an important event, and we seize the opportunity to lobby for Macedonian interests and policies! ”, he wrote.
This summit aims to strengthen economic co-operation, promote reforms and accelerate the integration of countries in the region towards the Joint Regional Market, in co-operation with international financial institutions.
The 6 billion-euro Western Balkans growth plan was approved by the European Commission on November 8th, 2023. It is based on four pillars: strengthening economic integration in the unique EU market; strengthening economic integration within the Western Balkans through the common regional market; accelerating fundamental reforms and increasing financial assistance to assist reforms.
For northern Macedonia, 750m euros are dedicated.
