Democratic Party of Kosovo MP Progress Gruda has reacted to the decision of Specialised Chambers in The Hague, which today have rejected the motion to drop a part of the indictment against former KLA leaders Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi.
“The Democratic Party of Kosovo, without entering into prejudice over the background of this decision, expresses deep regret because it was a lost case to strengthen trust in international justice and in the fundamental principles it must embody: objectivity, impartiality and truth. It is unacceptable that no defence request is taken into account, while the court and prosecution act as a single body”, he said.
According to Gruda, the decisions so far and the court's regulation testify that the defence is not treated equally with the prosecution.
However, we strongly believe that justice, however late, is always based on truth. And the truth in this case is untenable: They're innocent. They're Saviors. Therefore, we confidently await the final decision to release them complete and permanent”, Gruda stressed.. /Periscopi/
