PDK recalls July 2nd: Historic Act towards Kosovo independence

The Democratic Party of Kosovo has remembered today the 35th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitutional Declaration for Kosovo, naming it one of the most important and historical moments in the political migration of the people towards freedom and citizenship. This statement, based on the universal principles of equality, freedom and democracy, preceded the drafting of the Kacanik Constitution and marked an important starting point for the further processes of statehood and institutional construction of the Republic of Kosovo.
Respect and gratitude for delegates, who courageously and politically matured, declared Kosovo independent and equal entities with other republics of the former Yugoslavia, despite the difficult circumstances and presence of Serbian police forces that surrounded the Assembly building where this historic event was taking place”.
