RTK Workers' Unions have expressed concern over not sharing budgetary means for the second quarter of the year, due to Kosovo's Assembly non-compliance, until protests have been warned if salary execution does not occur, writes Periscope.
RTK employees risk being paid off this month, though for most of them RTK is the only job and income source, while having regular financial and credit obligations. We urgently ask responsible institutions and those in charge to make the budget distribution for the second six-month so that neither the existence of salaries nor the functioning of the public broadcaster is endangered. If that doesn't happen, we warn that we will go to protests to seek this right of ours guaranteed by law, and to protect the country's only public broadcaster.

RTK Workers' Union head voices deep concern over the situation created after failing to share budget resources for the second quarter of the year for RTK, as a result of the Kosovo Assembly failure. RTK employees risk being paid off this month, though for most of them RTK is the only job and income source, while having regular financial and credit obligations. We urgently ask responsible institutions and those in charge to make the budget distribution for the second six-month so that neither the existence of salaries nor the functioning of the public broadcaster is endangered. If that doesn't happen, we warn that we will go to protests to seek this right of ours guaranteed by law, and to protect the country's only public broadcaster. RTK is adjusted to the Constitutions, and preventing its operation constitutes legal violations with legal consequences. Like the Union, we will take all necessary actions to protect the dignity of our colleagues and to seek better conditions for their work. It is unacceptable that, apart from the fact that there is no salary increase in RTK, we are now in danger of remaining without those salaries we receive unless the budget distribution is done for the second quarter. We call on institutions to act immediately and not bring a public institution of particular importance to society and democracy in the country to collapse. We also call on all RTK employees to support us strongly in the union actions we will take within these days, to protect our rights and the normal functioning of RTK.
